SF Dyke March Committees will resume collaborative work in early 2026.

Here are descriptions of the committees from 2025:

Elected Committee

Advisory Committee (elected seats) - will act as Governance committee and primary governing body. Oversees SFDM organizational development and the project as a whole, shepherds committees and participates in working groups throughout the processes, Ensures the SFDM mission and values are incorporated into all aspects of organizational development and productions. Creates and maintains SFDM Working Agreements, board structure and term limits; decision making processes; committee oversight. Dedicated in service to our Dyke Community via collaborative, professional communications that support healthy, functional, inter-committee and external community development. Holds annual elections for new Advisory Committee members.

Accessibility

Addresses accessibility needs with solutions to support and accommodate as many of our communities as we can, including mobility and ASL, for town halls, fundraisers, and the March.

Community Engagement and Outreach (NEW COMMITTEE)

Promotes SFDM widely, (focusing on more marginalized communities) to inform the broader Bay Area Dyke community about upcoming events, as well as recruit volunteers, membership, and engagement. Responds to relevant community inquiries. Hosts and promotes Dyke Town Halls, scheduled public meetings and outreach events.  

Fundraising 

Fundraising - Develops a fundraising plan to meet budget needs to include sponsorships, grants, personal solicitations and city support of all types. Researches and writes our grants and coordinates with our Fiscal Sponsor’s Project rep for necessary attachments, review and submission requirements.  

Infrastructure and Operations (currently merged but they could split into two)

Infrastructure - Site logistics, permits, city planning. Works with Advisory Committee to secure city and park permits to meet all requirements for producing the SFDMarch and Rally

Operations - The nuts and bolts of the SF Dyke March and Rally events. Plan for and direct site set up, break down, and establishes and supports teams doing the labor. Those with effective project and event management skills, hands on able bodies as well as web and bureaucratic mavens are welcome.

Media & Communications

This committee works with the Project Director to ensure the local press is informed on Dyke March happenings. Design/develop the look and feel of SFDM 2026 event branding, create a packet of social media graphics, and drives social media promotions and event listings. Write press releases in collaboration with the Project Director and AC communications lead.

Production

Responsible for all stage activity at the SFDM Rally - production design, stage management, performers and speakers, stage crew, stage security, "backstage" area. Works with sound vendor estimates, and Operations committee to obtain the proper SFRPD and City permits required. Procures DJs for SFDM events - fundraisers, Rally and for the march’s sound truck; submit required payment requests for performers and vendors.

Volunteers

Supports the Volunteer Coordinator in the following tasks - Recruits and manage incoming volunteers via the Bugle platform, in collaboration w/Outreach, Operations, and other committee leaders. Maintains communication with and organizes all interested volunteers for Town Halls, Fundraisers, Rally and the March. Maintain secure volunteer contact data, in an organized fashion, so as to share with appropriate committees for team building purposes.
